EcoFlow Unveils TITAN Series Home Backup Batteries Starting Heavy HVAC Loads

Modular systems decouple high peak power output from total energy capacity requirements.

1Targeting Heavy Domestic HVAC Loads

EcoFlow launched its TITAN residential battery series in the United States, targeting heavy household electrical loads. The flagship TITAN 5000 Plus can start and run a 3-ton central air conditioner without a soft starter. This setup provides high output alongside refrigerators, televisions, and essential lighting during grid outages.

2High Discharge LFP Cell Architecture

The TITAN 5000 and 5000 Plus deliver 7,200 watts of continuous 120/240V power from a 5kWh battery pack. EcoFlow utilizes 40160 cylindrical lithium iron phosphate cells rated at 2C discharge. This half-hour full discharge rate provides the high power headroom required to absorb compressor startup surges.

3Modular Storage Expansion Capabilities

TITAN addresses the challenge where homeowners buy excess storage simply to gain higher inverter wattage. Base units hold 5kWh and expand up to 30kWh by stacking 83-pound add-on modules. A fully stacked 30kWh setup matches the daily power consumption of an average United States household.

4Solar Integration and Power Boost

The TITAN 5000 Plus accepts up to 8kW of solar input across two charge controllers, while the standard 5000 takes 4kW. Under active sunlight, PV Boost lifts the Plus model's output from 7.2kW to 10kW. The Plus also includes a dedicated 50-amp L14-50 outlet.

5Entry-Level Classic Model Limits

The budget TITAN 5000 Classic restricts output to 4kW at 120V only and caps solar input at 3.2kW. Because electric dryers, well pumps, and central air conditioners require 240V circuits, the Classic cannot power heavy appliances. It is primarily built for refrigerators, standard lighting, and plug loads.

6Smart Subpanel Substantially Cuts Labor

TITAN pairs with the Smart Home Panel 10, switching ten backed-up circuits to battery within 20 milliseconds. Factory pre-wiring and pre-installed breakers reduce on-site installation labor by up to 80 percent, taking roughly two hours. The service advertises a seven-day timeline in eligible ZIP codes after permits clear.

7Peak Shaving Software Without Export

Operating software OASIS 3.0 charges batteries during low time-of-use rates and discharges them during peak pricing hours. The TITAN 5000 specification designates a no-export grid connection, meaning it cannot sell electricity back to utilities. Financial savings depend entirely on reducing expensive peak grid energy purchases.

8Pricing Tiers and Market Positioning

Standalone units list at $2,499 for Classic, $3,199 for 5000, and $3,699 for Plus. Fully installed bundles with panels range between $5,000 and $7,000. These price points undercut EcoFlow's DELTA Pro Ultra line, intensifying competition against fixed-capacity home battery vendors.
