1Strategic Infrastructure Expansion

The Noida Authority is planning a six-lane underpass at Parthala Chowk to alleviate severe traffic congestion. This intersection serves as a critical junction for commuters traveling between Noida, Delhi, Ghaziabad, and Meerut. By bypassing the current roundabout, the project aims to streamline vehicle flow across the busy National Capital Region corridor.

2Technical Project Specifications

The proposed structure will span approximately 710 meters in total length. It includes a 110-meter reinforced cement concrete box structure and approach roads measuring 280 meters on each side. To ensure operational reliability during monsoon seasons, the design incorporates dedicated pumping systems to prevent waterlogging within the underpass area.

3Traffic Flow Optimization

Parthala Chowk currently handles over 1.5 lakh vehicles daily, leading to significant bottlenecks during peak morning and evening hours. The new underpass allows vehicles on the Faridabad-Noida-Ghaziabad route to bypass traffic signals entirely. Projections indicate this intervention could reduce traffic pressure at the junction by up to 90 percent upon completion.

4Regional Connectivity Benefits

The project connects Vikas Marg, linking Sectors 52 and 71 to Gaur Chowk, with the FNG Expressway. This integration provides a direct route for motorists traveling from the Delhi-Meerut Expressway toward Noida and Greater Noida. Residents in Siddharth Vihar and Vasundhara are also expected to experience improved road connectivity and reduced travel times.

5Impacted Residential Sectors

Numerous residential areas will benefit from this development, including Noida Sectors 71 through 79 and Sectors 119 through 122. Additionally, residents of Sorkha village and those living near Gaur City in Greater Noida West will see improved access. These commuters frequently travel to Noida and Delhi for their daily professional work.

6Project Development Timeline

The Detailed Project Report is currently under preparation and expected within a week. Following this, the Noida Authority Board must grant formal approval before the tender process commences. Officials estimate the construction phase will take approximately 18 months to complete, though an official start date has not yet been publicly announced.

7Operational Management Oversight

General Manager AK Arora confirmed that the authority is prioritizing the Faridabad-Noida-Ghaziabad route to enhance regional mobility. The project is designed to integrate seamlessly with the existing Parthala Signature Bridge. By removing signal-based stops, the authority intends to create a faster, smoother transit experience for the thousands of daily commuters using this junction.

8Infrastructure Development Significance

This underpass represents a critical effort to modernize NCR infrastructure and manage rapid urbanization. By addressing one of the busiest intersections in Noida, the authority aims to mitigate long-term traffic challenges. The successful execution of this project is essential for maintaining efficient road connectivity between major satellite cities and the capital.
