1Defining South African Voice
Zolani Mahola rose to prominence as the lead singer of Freshlyground, a multiracial and multi-genre band. Her work became synonymous with the democratic era of South Africa, reflecting the nation's cultural shift. By blending diverse musical influences, she established herself as a pivotal figure in the country's contemporary music scene and identity.
