1Tatyana Miron's Design Philosophy

Tatyana Miron emphasizes that there are no rules in design and loves the mix of styles and materials. In her Carmel, New York property, custom-designed sofas, antique furniture, and modern art pieces coexist. This blend showcases the home's unique story.

2Details in the Living Room

The living room features custom sofas covered in Claremont velvet, a rug from New England Collection, and a vintage coffee table. Artworks by Domenick Capobianco and a 19th-century embroidered panel complete the room's historical texture.

3Nostalgia at the Games Table

The games table is covered with Rogers Goffigon wool and topped with an antique lace coverlet. Biedermeier chairs and a lamp from Arenskjold Antiques enhance the room's nostalgic atmosphere. Simone Shubuck's artwork also contributes to this ambiance.

4The History of Trail Club

Founded in 1924, Trail Club is a community in upstate New York. Approximately 125 families share hundreds of acres of forest. The club boasts a lake, tennis courts, and a clubhouse. Modest Adirondack-style cabins allow children to grow up close to nature.

5Details in the Library

The library features walls and windows covered in George Spencer moss strié fabric from Claremont. Artworks from Steven Moore Antiques are flanked by custom sconces, and the custom sofas are covered in Larsen fabric, adding elegance to the room.

6Elegance in the Bathroom

The bathroom walls are covered in Pierre Frey's Au Bord Du Lac fabric. A custom mirror by Stephen Amedee and sink fittings from The Water Monopoly complete the modern and chic look of the bathroom.

7Restoration in the Dining Room

In the dining room, a door was reinstated after referencing original photos. A rug from Double Knot, a table from Regan Smith Antiques, and Cassina chairs from Parma, Italy, preserve the room's historical texture. Sconces by Rayon Rosker and a custom-designed pendant add to the room's elegance.

8Details in the Sitting Room

The sitting room features a sofa by Mario Bellini, vintage chairs by Robert Haussmann for Stendig, and a vintage needlepoint ottoman from Parma, Italy. Cork floors and a vintage pendant by GPA Monti from Furlong Antiques complete the room's nostalgic atmosphere.

9The House's History

The house was once a grand property with Welsh ponies galloping through the surrounding woods. By the 1970s, it had fallen into ruin, abandoned to mold and critters. Trail Club acquired the property to protect it from development. On a friend's recommendation, Tatyana Miron decided to restore it.

10Custom Design in the Kitchen

The kitchen, inspired by 1950s English kitchens, was custom-designed by Murray Craft Builders. A narrow island was specially made to provide more space, surrounded by vintage paperclip stools. Sink fittings from DeVOL, a range from Aga, and a custom hood complete the kitchen's modern look.

11The Results of the Restoration

Tatyana Miron promised her husband a quick and inexpensive renovation. Sixteen months later, the house was completed, and the couple moved in. During the restoration, 1970s additions were removed, architectural details were restored, and original floors were preserved. The house was brought into this century.
