DeWalt Launches 6 New Cordless Power Tools for Professionals
Carpenters and remodelers get upgraded with specialized tools designed for precision and durability.
1DeWalt's New Professional Series
In August 2023, DeWalt announced six new cordless power tools specifically designed for carpenters, remodelers, and general contractors. All tools feature brushless motors within the 20V Max XR system, promising higher performance, extended battery life, and reduced heat generation. Brandon Stumpf, DeWalt's Senior Director of Product Management, emphasized these tools deliver the precision and reliability professionals demand daily.
2Plunge Track Saw
The new 20V Max XR 6½-inch Plunge Track Saw excels at cutting large sheet materials like plywood. Capable of ripping hardwoods up to 2-1/8 inches thick with 1/32-inch accuracy, it features variable speed (2,500-5,400 rpm), Kickback Brake system, and wireless vacuum control. Priced at $429 for the bare tool, $579 with tracks, and $749 for the full kit including battery and accessories.
3Random Orbital Sanders
DeWalt introduced two new random orbital sanders (5-inch and 6-inch) with brushless motors that prevent surface marks. The 5-inch model operates at 8,000-12,000 OPM, while the 6-inch runs at 6,000-10,000 OPM. Both feature DeWalt's AirLock dust control system. Currently retailing at $199 for the 5-inch (DCW211B) and $249 for the 6-inch model (DCW230B) at major hardware stores.
4Oscillating Multi-Tool
The 20V Max XR Oscillating Multi-Tool delivers 20,000 oscillations/minute with a 4.2° angle. Weighing just 2.88 lbs, it boasts tool-free blade changes, LED light, and 43% less vibration than previous models. Available for $249 (DCS359B), with a $299 kit version including blades, sanding plate, and battery. Not yet in stock at Home Depot or Lowe's but available through specialty retailers.
516-Gauge Straight Finish Nailer
DeWalt's new cordless 16-gauge nailer (DCN220B) drives up to 5 nails/second with 110-nail capacity. It handles nails up to 2.5 inches long, works in 3.1-inch tight spaces, and features tool-free jam release and depth adjustment. Priced at $399 MSRP, it's currently available through select distributors like Acme Tools.
6Advantages of Battery-Powered Nailers
DeWalt's new battery-powered nailers eliminate the need for air compressors, offering quieter operation and true portability. This technology reduces jobsite noise while maintaining professional-grade performance. Designed for tradespeople, these tools incorporate multiple safety features and user-friendly adjustments for efficient workflow.
7Professional-Grade Ergonomics
The new DeWalt series prioritizes user comfort with vibration control systems, anti-fatigue triggers, and advanced dust management. Most tools are compatible with DeWalt's Tool Connect system for equipment tracking. These features collectively aim to enhance productivity during extended use on job sites.
8Bridging DIY and Professional Use
This launch reflects DeWalt's strategy to serve both DIY enthusiasts and professionals. Through brushless motor technology and high-capacity batteries, these tools cover everything from home projects to commercial construction. They position DeWalt as a strong competitor against brands like Milwaukee and Ryobi in the cordless power tool market.
