Express yourself better with new emojis
Cracking face and meteor emojis coming to your devices soon!
1The emoji evolution continues
The Unicode Consortium has unveiled a new set of emojis set to launch in spring 2024. Symbols like cracking face, meteor, and netted butterfly will enrich emotional expression in digital communication. The 'Cracking Face' emoji particularly reflects today's stressful lifestyle.
2Designs with emotional depth
The cracking face emoji represents individuals who appear happy on the surface but are crumbling inside. The meteor emoji symbolizes existential threats. These designs will offer new narrative possibilities in digital communication.
3Scientific accuracy prioritized
The new meteor emoji resembles an actual asteroid while being distinguished from comets. Butterfly emojis will now carry different meanings for Monarch and Morpho species. These details demonstrate the scientific consistency of emojis.
4Symbols loaded with cultural meaning
The Monarch butterfly emoji represents intergenerational resilience and ancestral memory. The lighthouse can serve as a metaphor for hope and guidance. Emojis are no longer just simple expressions but carry profound meanings.
5Ensuring platform compatibility
The new update will resolve the issue of butterfly emojis appearing differently across devices. Unicode is working to provide a consistent visual experience across all platforms, allowing users to be confident about how their sent emojis will appear.
6The future of digital communication
This new emoji set shows how digital communication is becoming increasingly nuanced. The ability to express complex emotions and existential questions transforms emojis from simple symbols into rich communication tools.
