How to watch Liverpool vs Como for free online
Stream the 2026 pre-season friendly on SportyNet using a VPN
1Pre-season double-header
Liverpool will play back-to-back friendlies against Como at Anfield on August 16, 2026, as part of their pre-season preparations. The first match kicks off at 6:30 AM ET, followed by the second at 1:00 PM ET. Such double-headers are common for testing squad depth, with Premier League clubs typically playing 8-10 pre-season matches. Last summer, Liverpool played 9 friendlies across 4 countries during their pre-season tour.
2Free streaming platform
The matches will be streamed for free on SportyNet in Brazil, which has become a major digital sports platform with 15 million active users. SportyNet gained popularity by offering free access to European football matches, though it's geo-restricted to Brazilian IP addresses. The platform streams in HD quality and saw a 40% user growth in 2025 after securing rights to several friendly tournaments.
3VPN access method
To bypass SportyNet's geo-restrictions, users can employ a reliable VPN service like ExpressVPN. By masking your IP and connecting through Brazilian servers, you gain access to the free stream. ExpressVPN operates servers in 105 countries and offers a 30-day money-back guarantee. Independent tests show it maintains an average connection speed of 210 Mbps, sufficient for 4K streaming without buffering.
4Setup instructions
First, subscribe to ExpressVPN's monthly plan at $12.99. After installing the app, connect to a Brazilian server and visit SportyNet. Among VPN providers, ExpressVPN, NordVPN and Surfshark lead the market. ExpressVPN's 2025 user survey reported 94% satisfaction rates. The service allows up to 10 simultaneous connections and features military-grade encryption for security.
5Technical advantages
ExpressVPN delivers consistent speeds averaging 85-110 Mbps on Brazilian servers, well above the 5 Mbps required for HD streaming. It maintains a strict no-logs policy and uses TrustedServer technology that runs on RAM only. Comparative tests show it bypasses geo-blocks more effectively than 89% of competitors. The service also offers 24/7 customer support via live chat.
6Cost-effective solution
ExpressVPN's two-year plan is currently 81% off at $68.40, including 4 extra months free. This package comes with 1 year of unlimited cloud backup. Users can technically watch the matches and request a refund under the 30-day guarantee. The VPN market average ranges $10-13 monthly, making this deal significantly cheaper at approximately $2.85 per month.
7Alternative platforms
Other platforms like ESPN+ and DAZN also broadcast pre-season matches but require paid subscriptions. DAZN charges $19.99/month while ESPN+ starts at $9.99. In Turkey, no broadcaster holds rights for these friendlies, making VPN the only viable option. Global streaming rights for pre-season matches are typically sold separately from competitive fixtures.
8Important considerations
VPN legality varies by country, and some platforms actively block VPN traffic. SportyNet reportedly blocked 23% of VPN users in the past 6 months. Enabling ExpressVPN's 'Stealth' mode can help circumvent detection. Users should clear browser cookies before connecting and consider using incognito mode. Connection speeds may vary based on server load and your base internet speed.
