Hyatt and Air Canada Partnership Introduces New Redemption Options
Airline and hotel loyalty programs unite to offer exclusive benefits.
1New Partnership, New Benefits
Hyatt and Air Canada are merging their loyalty programs to offer reciprocal benefits to members. By linking their accounts, members of both programs can access new redemption options. This collaboration is particularly valuable for elite status members and Air Canada Aeroplan cardholders.
2Convert Your Points
Hyatt members can convert World of Hyatt points to Aeroplan points at a 2:1 ratio, starting from 5,000 points. Aeroplan members with elite status can also convert their points to Hyatt points. However, these conversions may result in some value loss.
3Free Night Awards
Air Canada Aeroplan members can now redeem Aeroplan points for free nights at Hyatt hotels. Free Night Awards start at 25,000 Aeroplan points for Category 1-4 or 1-7 hotels. This option might be more expensive than redeeming Hyatt points directly.
4Flight Rewards and Credits
Hyatt members can redeem 50,000 World of Hyatt points for a 30,000-point Aeroplan flight reward certificate. This certificate can be used for award flights on Air Canada and its partner airlines. However, the exchange might only be beneficial for expensive flights.
5Elite Status Challenges
Starting in 2026, Aeroplan Elite Status members can participate in a 90-day challenge to earn Hyatt elite status. This program offers a great opportunity for members with upcoming trips to achieve Hyatt elite status quickly.
6A New Era in Airline and Hotel Partnerships
The Hyatt and Air Canada partnership reshapes collaborations between airline and hotel loyalty programs. Such alliances make it easier for members to earn elite status across multiple programs while offering flexible redemption options.
