This Sculptural Dubai Home Redefines Everyday Luxury

Wrapped in white tones and arches, this villa transforms architecture into an emotional experience.

1Weightless Luxury

The White Arcade, a Dubai villa bathed in natural light and warm white tones, feels almost weightless at first glance. Redesigned by D'Ora Tokai Designs, the home shifts from heavy Spanish style to a serene retreat. Sculptural architectural details and bespoke furnishings define luxury through tranquility rather than ostentation.

2Architecture's Heartbeat

Existing arches became the project's defining motif, appearing rhythmically across doorways and passages inspired by Moorish traditions. These elements bridge the home's original character with the family's Emirati heritage. Light oak herringbone floors and frame moldings balance fluid curves, creating a timeless aesthetic.

3The Central Atrium

The home's strongest architectural moment unfolds in the double-height glass atrium. Layered arches frame each other like sculptural portals, while mature trees soften the composition. Originally sunken, the space was raised to align with the main floor, allowing daylight to flood surrounding rooms.

4Furniture as Architecture

Custom furnishings by DOT Objects speak the same visual language as the architecture. From the white onyx dining table (requiring 15 people to assemble) to the curved staircase, each element treats furniture as an architectural extension. This integration strengthens the space's emotional resonance.

5Depth in Materiality

Beneath the monochrome appearance lies rich textural diversity through materials like textured plaster and Carrara marble. As Tokai states, 'white is a tool of discipline that heightens proportions.' Only the sage-green prep kitchen, glimpsed through a circular window, adds playful warmth without disrupting serenity.

6Architecture's Emotional Power

The White Arcade uses minimalism not for aesthetics alone but to support emotional wellbeing. Every arch and custom design reveals architecture's calming power. As Tokai intended, this villa isn't just shelter—it's an experience that helps occupants 'exhale,' proving design's transformative potential in daily life.
