Colorful flower shop design in Moscow catches the eye
KORNWORKS studio created a space blending performance and retail for VesnaFlowers.
1Design reflecting brand identity
KORNWORKS studio developed the visual language established for VesnaFlowers' first store while designing the second location. Treating each shop as an individual space within a shared identity, the designers preserved sections of existing wall finish to create contrast between old and new elements.
2Open-plan performance space
The shop is organized as an open-plan interior where customers and florists move through one continuous space. The bouquet preparation process, positioned prominently near the entrance, transforms into a visible performance that becomes part of the shopping experience.
3Seasonal inspiration in design
The interior draws inspiration from the moment winter recedes and first flowers appear. A textured blue foam ceiling evokes an abstract spring sky above the floral displays, adding depth and movement to the compact space while creating a distinctive visual element.
4Budget-conscious material use
Working within the project's limited material budget, the studio created contrast between preserved old surfaces and bold new elements. Partially exposed walls paired with saturated colors give character to the space while keeping costs under control.
5Recycled furniture elements
By the window, a small waiting area features colorful chairs and a coffee table made from recycled plastic. From this vantage point, customers can observe the Ministry of Foreign Affairs skyscraper and surrounding buildings of Denezhny Lane.
6Where retail meets performance
Through color, reused surfaces, and flexible layout, VesnaFlowers presents floristry as both a retail function and public-facing performance. The design balances practical use with playful expressions, creating a unique shopping experience that engages customers visually and spatially.
