This represents a substantial discount from the original retail price of $49.95. Both Amazon and Barnes and Noble are currently offering this deal, making physical ownership more affordable than a standard monthly streaming subscription. ## Streaming Versus Physical Ownership Many viewers previously maintained a $26.99 Netflix Premium subscription specifically to access this title in high-definition quality. By purchasing the physical disc for $24.99, consumers can secure permanent access to the film. This shift highlights a growing trend where physical media becomes a cost-effective alternative to recurring monthly digital service fees. ## Criterion Collection Features This specific release is part of the prestigious Criterion Collection, known for high-quality restorations and comprehensive bonus materials. The set includes a 4K digital master featuring Dolby Vision HDR and Dolby Atmos sound. These technical specifications ensure that the home viewing experience matches or exceeds the quality typically found on premium streaming platforms. ## Comprehensive Bonus Content Beyond the main feature, the package includes two standard 1080p Blu-ray discs dedicated to supplemental materials. These extras feature a full-length animatic, a detailed making-of documentary, and various lyric videos. Such depth provides fans with significant insight into the production process that is rarely available through standard digital-only streaming library interfaces. ## Physical Collectible Additions The set distinguishes itself from digital media by including tangible physical items for collectors. Inside the box, buyers will find a series of collectible postcards and an exclusive essay written by former Polygon staffer Karen Han. These physical artifacts add intrinsic value to the purchase, appealing directly to dedicated film enthusiasts and collectors. ## Retail Availability Update As of 4:50 PM ET on November 6th, the deal has transitioned from in-store pickup to widespread online availability. Both Amazon and Barnes and Noble have confirmed that the discounted price is accessible for online orders. This update ensures that customers nationwide can take advantage of the offer regardless of their local inventory. ## Holiday Season Market Positioning The timing of this price drop aligns with the upcoming holiday shopping season, a period characterized by aggressive retail discounting. By positioning the 4K Blu-ray as a must-buy item, retailers are targeting gift-givers and film buffs. This strategy effectively clears inventory while driving consumer engagement during the year's most critical sales window. ## Long-term Value Proposition Investing in physical media provides a hedge against the volatility of streaming platform licensing agreements. Unlike digital content that may be removed from services without notice, the 4K Blu-ray ensures permanent access. For fans of KPop Demon Hunters, this discounted price point offers a rare opportunity to own a premium edition permanently. ## Sources covering this story - https://www.theverge.com/gadgets/1028640/kpop-demon-hunters-4k-criterion-bluray-deal-sale — --- _Summary written by Brifing from the original reporting.
