1Robust First-Half Performance

Wipro Consumer Care reported a 17% organic revenue increase to ₹6,094 crore for the six months ending September 2026. Profit before taxes and interest grew by 19% year-on-year. This performance highlights resilient rural demand and successful premiumisation strategies across tier-2 and tier-3 towns, despite broader macroeconomic challenges affecting the FMCG sector.

2International Market Dominance

International operations served as a primary growth engine, with Indonesia leading at 31% topline growth. Vietnam and the Philippines also contributed significantly, expanding by 22% and 9% respectively. These markets are recovering from pandemic-era economic pressures, allowing household savings to stabilize and fueling a sustained increase in consumer demand for personal care products.

3India Business Expansion

The domestic business grew by 14.9%, with the lighting vertical showing unexpected strength despite general trade dominance. Santoor soap emerged as a standout performer, achieving 15.6% growth and crossing ₹3,000 crore in revenue. Overall volume growth in India reached 4.5%, outperforming several industry peers who relied heavily on price hikes to maintain sales.

4Strategic Brand Acquisitions

Wipro is aggressively integrating new brands like Eva, Good Home, and Dermatouch to diversify its portfolio. The company employs a two-brand strategy in fragrances, positioning Yardley for consumers aged 25 and above, while targeting the 16-25 demographic with Eva. These acquisitions contributed approximately ₹1,100 crore on an annualised basis to the total revenue.

5Quick Commerce and Premiumisation

Quick commerce platforms are enabling consumers in smaller towns to upgrade to premium offerings like shower gels and liquid dishwash. Brands such as Giffy and Aramusk are benefiting from this shift in purchasing behavior. This trend helps offset slower growth in traditional discretionary categories, allowing the company to maintain momentum in competitive retail environments.

6Navigating Rural Demand Risks

While urban performance remains strong, rural markets in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh have slowed due to weak monsoons and drought conditions. The central government has declared drought across five states, creating headwinds for the FMCG sector. Wipro is monitoring these regional impacts closely, balancing rural consumption risks against steady growth in urban centers.

7Packaged Foods Ambitions

Wipro aims to increase the share of packaged foods in its total sales from 14% in FY26 to 20% in the future. The company is actively scouting for acquisitions in this segment, with reports suggesting interest in Kerala-based brand Double Horse. This expansion is central to the firm's long-term diversification strategy.

8Path to FY30 Targets

The company targets ₹20,000 crore in annual revenue by FY30, building on its FY26 closing revenue of ₹10,600 crore. By leveraging a mix of organic growth, digital-first brand integration, and strategic acquisitions, management believes they are currently ahead of the competition in terms of compound annual growth rate over a two-year horizon.
