1Automatic card suggestions with location permissions

By allowing Google Wallet to access your location, you can enable automatic suggestions for relevant cards or passes when nearby. This feature saves time for location-specific items like gym memberships or store discount cards. Enable access via Settings > Apps > Google Wallet > Permissions. Then turn on 'Get notifications for this card' from the card menu.

2Digitizing physical barcode cards

You can add physical documents like library cards or parking tickets to Google Wallet. Photograph the barcode or QR code with your Android device, select 'Add to Google Wallet > Photo'. After selecting the image, add a name and description to create the digital version. Now you can use your phone instead of the original card.

3Ticket management with Gmail integration

If your flight or concert ticket confirmations come to your Gmail account, Google Wallet can import these tickets automatically. Enable 'Add passes from Gmail' in Wallet settings and ensure smart features are on. This eliminates the need to manually search for your tickets later.

4Public transit integration with Google Maps

Your transit card in Wallet syncs with Google Maps. When planning routes, you'll see which segments are covered by your card. Some systems even check your balance against fares and prompt reloads if needed. Enable 'Use passes across Google' in Wallet's pass data management and ensure NFC is active.

5Family-linked wallets for children

Google Family Link lets you create supervised Wallet accounts for children. This allows contactless payments but requires them to be official cardholders. The system supports gift cards, boarding passes, and 'secure balances' (digital allowances). IDs, transit cards, and similar items cannot be added.

6Faster security screening with passport integration

TSA PreCheck travelers can add passports to Google Wallet for expedited security at numerous airports. Begin the verification process via 'Add to Google Wallet > ID'. Previously limited to specific airlines, this Touchless ID feature now works across a wide network of airports and carriers.

7Sharing tickets via Quick Share

You can directly share event or concert tickets to other users' Wallets. Shareable items display a 'Share' icon allowing sending to nearby devices. Not all passes are shareable for security reasons. Once shared, tickets cannot be unsent and recipients may forward them further.

8Autofill forms in Chrome

Use ID information in Wallet to autofill forms in Chrome, similar to password managers. Enable 'Use private pass across Google' from the pass menu. If information isn't in Wallet, Chrome will offer to save it upon first entry. This feature speeds up online transactions significantly.
