The S27 and S27+ will feature a new 50MP main camera, while the S27 Pro and S27 Ultra will include a 50MP ultrawide camera. The Ultra model is rumored to have two zoom cameras. ## Sony sensors take center stage Leaks suggest the Galaxy S27 series will use Sony's IMX855 sensor. This 1/2.55-inch sensor promises improved performance, especially in wide-angle shots. Samsung's shift to Sony technology instead of using its own sensors is noteworthy. ## Differences between Pro and Ultra models Key distinctions between the Galaxy S27 Pro and S27 Ultra will include camera count and S Pen support. While the Ultra model may feature two telephoto cameras, the Pro might lack this. Additionally, S Pen support will reportedly be exclusive to the Ultra variant. ## Selfie camera upgrades Both S27 Pro and S27 Ultra are said to feature a 16MP front camera with autofocus. The Pro model might also include optical image stabilization (OIS) for its selfie camera, significantly improving front-facing photography quality. ## Codenames and launch timeline The Galaxy S27 series carries the 'NM' codename, standing for 'new miracle.' Models are sequentially numbered as NM1 (S27), NM2 (S27+), NM3 (S27 Pro), and NM4 (S27 Ultra), with an expected launch in Q1 2027. ## Industry significance Samsung's Galaxy S series sets important benchmarks in the smartphone market. These S27 innovations will shape consumer expectations and establish new technology standards for competitors in the premium smartphone segment. ## Sources covering this story - https://www.gsmarena.com/more_details_about_the_samsung_galaxy_s27_s27_s27_pro_and_s27_ultra_leak-news-73869.php — --- _Summary written by Brifing from the original reporting.
