## Squad Selection Strategy

The Danish Football Federation has officially announced a 24-player squad for the upcoming Nations League fixture against Portugal. Coach Brian Riemer finalized the list for the match scheduled on November 14 in Braga. This selection aims to challenge the group leaders while maintaining competitive momentum for the final group stage matches.

## Portugal-Based Talent Inclusion

The roster features notable players currently competing in the Portuguese league, specifically Benfica defender Alexander Bah and FC Porto midfielder Victor Froholdt. Bah, aged 28, brings experience with 23 caps and one goal, while 20-year-old Froholdt adds youthful energy to the midfield. Their local knowledge could prove vital in Braga.

## Key International Stars

The squad includes high-profile names such as midfielder Morten Hjulmand, now at Atlético Madrid, and Napoli forward Rasmus Hojlund. Hojlund previously scored against Portugal during their October 1 encounter in Copenhagen. Their inclusion signals Denmark's intent to test the Portuguese defense, which previously secured a 4-2 victory in that match.

## Group A4 Standings Context

Portugal currently leads Group A4 with 12 points, having already secured a spot in the quarter-finals. Denmark sits in second place with six points, while Norway and Wales trail with three points each. The upcoming match is critical for Denmark to solidify their standing before facing Norway on November 17.

## Goalkeeping and Defensive Depth

The defensive unit is bolstered by players like Joachim Andersen from Fulham and Joakim Maehle from Wolfsburg. The goalkeeping trio consists of Andreas Jungdal, Mads Hermansen, and Filip Jorgensen. This defensive structure aims to contain Portugal's attacking threats while providing a stable foundation for the team's tactical transitions during play.

## Midfield and Forward Options

The midfield features Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg from Marseille alongside Brentford's Mathias Jensen and Mikkel Damsgaard. The attacking line includes Gustav Isaksen, Andreas Skov Olsen, and Newcastle's William Osula. These selections offer Riemer various tactical configurations, allowing for adjustments based on the flow of the game against a strong Portuguese side.

## Upcoming Schedule Challenges

Following the match in Braga, Denmark will return home to Copenhagen to conclude their group stage campaign against Norway on November 17. Managing player fatigue and tactical discipline across these two high-stakes fixtures will be essential for Riemer. The team must balance defensive solidity with the need for offensive production.

## Broader Tournament Implications

As the Nations League group stage nears its conclusion, the focus shifts to final qualification spots. While Portugal has already advanced, Denmark's performance in these final two matches will determine their ultimate ranking. The outcome of the Braga encounter will serve as a benchmark for Denmark's current competitive standing in Europe.
