1Competition Purpose
Core77 and Autodesk Fusion have launched a new competition to design products that enhance home life. 'Fusion Forward: Design for Home' seeks thoughtful designs in material selection, form development, and utility. Participants are expected to create products that are not only visually appealing but also durable for everyday use.
2Categories
The competition features three main categories: Smart Home Devices, Personal Fitness and Wellness, and Home and Yard Maintenance. The Smart Home category emphasizes compact and functional devices. The Fitness category rewards designs suitable for long-term use. The Yard Maintenance category looks for practical and enjoyable solutions.
3Design Criteria
The jury will pay special attention to the use of Autodesk Fusion's computational design tools. Participants are expected to apply techniques like generative design, simulation, or parametric modeling. These tools should serve functional purposes, not just decorative ones.
4Submission Process
Participants must submit short and long descriptions, up to 10 images, and a written outline of how Autodesk Fusion was used in their design process. Submissions are open until September 28, 2026. Winners will be announced on October 20 and receive their prizes.
5Prizes
Each category winner will receive $2,500 and $250 worth of Autodesk merchandise. Additionally, up to two notable entries per category will receive $250 worth of merchandise. Finalists' work will be featured on Core77's website and social media channels.
6Jury and Impact
A distinguished jury from IDEO and Autodesk will evaluate designs based on functionality and innovation. The competition encourages designers worldwide to rethink home products, potentially setting new trends in the industry.
