However, it faced criticism for being slow, delivering poor results, and having limited functionality. These issues led Google to reintroduce the classic search experience. ## Toggle Feature Arrives Google has added a new button allowing users to switch between Ask Photos and classic search seamlessly. This feature enables users to instantly change search results with a single tap. The toggle appears after performing a search, offering quick access to both search methods. ## How It Works When Ask Photos is enabled, Google Photos decides whether to use Gemini-powered search or classic search based on the query. Simple queries trigger classic search, while more complex ones default to Ask Photos. Users can switch between the two at any time. ## User Experience Improvements This update allows users to benefit from both search methods. Classic search is faster and more accurate for simple queries, while Ask Photos handles complex ones. The toggle feature empowers users to personalize their search experience. ## User Reactions Users were disappointed with Ask Photos due to its slow performance and inaccurate results. Google's announcement of this update was well-received. The ability to instantly switch to classic search when faced with irrelevant results is seen as a major advantage. ## Why It Matters Google Photos is a critical app for millions managing their photo libraries. Ask Photos showcases the potential of AI-powered searches.
