With its 3.97-inch display and physical buttons, the device offers an ideal portable solution for book lovers. Despite its small size, the front-lit display enhances the reading experience. ## Comparison with Xteink X4 The Xteink X4 mentioned by the author stands out with its 4.49-inch size and $69 price, but lacks backlight and has battery issues. Boox Picco is expected to address these shortcomings and offer a more balanced experience. ## The need for portability In modern life, people are increasingly on the move. This is why compact e-readers are gaining popularity. Picco's pocket size will be a significant advantage for those who want to carry books with them every day. ## Price-performance balance While Boox's Palma 2 Pro model has a high price tag of $399.99, Picco's promise of an 'accessible price point' excites consumers. More affordable yet quality options in the e-reader market could reach a wider audience. ## Hope for independent bookstores Developments like Kobo's Bookshop.org integration offer support for independent bookstores. If Picco brings similar features, it could reduce users' dependence on large platforms and diversify the book ecosystem. ## The future of the e-reader market Boox Picco's entry into the market could make compact e-readers a real trend. The combination of portability, affordability, and functionality might encourage more people to start using e-readers. ## Sources covering this story - https://www.androidpolice.com/boox-might-finally-fix-my-pocket-ereader-envy/ — --- _Summary written by Brifing from the original reporting.
