macOS 27 Golden Gate public beta 2 now available
How to install the update featuring new Siri AI and enhanced capabilities
1Accessing the beta
Apple has released the second public beta of macOS 27 Golden Gate. Users can enroll at https://beta.apple.com and download it via System Settings > Software Update. However, beta software may contain instability issues that could affect daily use.
2Siri revolution
The standout feature is the new Siri AI that analyzes content from Messages and Mail to answer complex queries. This represents a major step in Apple's AI strategy, allowing natural language interactions for sophisticated tasks.
3Interface enhancements
Golden Gate introduces refinements to Liquid Glass effects and unified window corner radii. The problematic Spotlight search from macOS Tahoe 26 has been significantly improved. These changes promise a more polished user experience.
4Productivity tools
New writing tools and Visual Intelligence features target professional users. Innovations like the Safari extension builder and natural language Shortcuts creation lower the barrier for non-technical users.
5iPhone Mirroring evolution
Added flexible aspect ratio support in iPhone Mirroring hints at preparation for foldable iPhones. This suggests deeper iOS-macOS integration coming in future updates.
6Beta considerations
Beta testers may encounter Safari performance issues and Spaces feature instability. Critical work machines should stay on stable releases. But for early adopters, this offers an exciting preview of Apple's innovative future.
