The assistant, which often fell short in critical moments like navigation while driving, is undergoing a major AI-powered transformation with iOS 27. This update promises to elevate Siri to the level of a true digital assistant. ## New Interface and Visual Updates In iOS 27, Siri is now represented by a modern bubble that appears at the top of the screen, replacing the glowing frame that wrapped around the display. This new design not only looks sleeker but also more clearly indicates when the assistant is active. This visual improvement is one of the first signs of Siri's new identity. ## Major Leap in Reliability Notable improvements in CarPlay integration make the new Siri indispensable while driving. There's a marked performance boost in basic functions like finding correct addresses from contacts and processing navigation requests without errors. Users now get direct answers instead of web results. ## Concise and Focused Interaction Unlike other AI assistants, the new Siri answers questions directly without unnecessary dialogue. Differing from the lengthy chat experiences of ChatGPT or Alexa+, Siri AI provides short, precise answers, saving users' time. This feature offers significant advantages especially in urgent situations. ## Standalone App and Visual Capabilities The standalone Siri app in iOS 27 allows both voice and text queries. New camera integration features enable object recognition and information about visual content. The conversation history feature, synchronized across all Apple devices, elevates the user experience to new heights. ## The Future of Smartphones Siri AI's transformation represents much more than just a voice assistant upgrade. This system, working on iPhone 15 Pro and newer devices, is becoming the cornerstone of Apple's AI strategy. With the final release in September, we might be entering an era that fundamentally changes our smartphone usage habits. ## Sources covering this story - https://www.zdnet.com/article/public-beta-ios-27-siri-ai-hands-on-testing/ — --- _Summary written by Brifing from the original reporting.
