Cleaning the condenser coils is a critical step to ensure your fridge operates efficiently. These coils expel heat from the refrigerator, keeping the interior cool. ## Cleaning Frequency It’s recommended to clean the condenser coils at least once or twice a year. However, if your home is dusty or you have pets, you may need to increase this frequency. Regular cleaning maintains the coils' efficiency and extends the fridge's lifespan. ## Cleaning Steps Unplug the refrigerator and move it to access the condenser coils. Remove any covers by unscrewing them to gain full access. Use a vacuum and a hand brush to clean away accumulated dust and debris. ## Post-Cleaning Steps Once the coils are as clean as possible, reattach the covers and plug the refrigerator back in. Slide it back into place and resume normal use. These simple steps ensure your fridge operates smoothly for years to come. ## Energy Savings Dirty condenser coils force the refrigerator to work harder, increasing energy consumption. Regular cleaning helps lower your energy bills while extending the appliance's lifespan. ## Maintenance for Longevity Cleaning the condenser coils ensures your refrigerator operates efficiently and lasts longer. Skipping this simple maintenance step can lead to costly repairs and premature breakdowns. Regular cleaning guarantees your fridge performs at its best. ## Sources covering this story - https://www.slashgear.com/2214405/how-to-clean-refrigerator-condenser-coils/ — --- _Summary written by Brifing from the original reporting.
