Its minimalist aesthetic combines a black chassis with light wood accents, while replacing manual springs with electronic resistance adjustment for safety. A 24-inch swiveling HD touchscreen completes the workout experience. ## Integrated Tech & Safety The smart spine design encases all springs, eliminating risks for children and pets. Resistance adjusts from 22-99 pounds via color-coded buttons. Safety is further enhanced by requiring the carriage to be flush with the platform before resistance changes can be made. ## iFit Membership Unlocks Content With a $39/month iFit Pro subscription, users access 200+ Pilates classes and 10,000+ workouts. Real-time metrics like watt output, cadence, and calories burned display on-screen. The membership allows creating up to 5 additional profiles for family members. ## Silent, Fluid Performance During testing, the strap system operated noiselessly. Its low 30.6-inch height accommodates users with height anxiety. The reformer provided stability during ab roll-ups and hip bridges while maintaining balance during single-leg exercises. ## Cost Breakdown & Investment Beyond the $5,000 base price, accessories ($70-$250) and $35/month iFit add to costs. FSA/HSA eligible, it arrives fully assembled. For regular reformer users, it may offset studio fees long-term, but the price tag could deter beginners. ## Ideal User Profile Best suited for committed Pilates enthusiasts with dedicated space who value design and tech integration. While expensive upfront, it eliminates studio costs for frequent users. The sleek design blends into modern home interiors effortlessly. ## Sources covering this story - https://www.cnet.com/health/nordictrack-ultra-1-reformer-review-pilates/ — --- _Summary written by Brifing from the original reporting.
