Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Review
A detailed review and comparisons of the new foldable phone.
1New Foldable Phone
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 brings a fresh breath to the foldable phone market. Available in Graphite, Cream, and Lavender, the 12/256GB model starts at €1,999. The box includes a USB-C cable.
2Design and Size
Unlike the usual tall and narrow foldables, the Galaxy Z Fold8 features a wider and shorter design. Weighing just 201 grams, it feels light and practical in hand. This design was well-received by many of our editors.
3Screen Experience
The Z Fold8 feels like a compact phone when closed but offers a large screen when opened. It even outperforms the larger Z Fold8 Ultra when watching standard 16:9 videos. Its 4:3 aspect ratio is ideal for viewing smartphone photos.
4Color and Price Options
Four color options are available, including the Samsung.com-exclusive Pistachio. The 12/256GB model is priced at €1,999, while the 12/512GB model costs €2,099. In the UK, prices start at £1,699.
5Comparative Analysis
Compared to the Z Fold8 Ultra, which is a minor upgrade of last year's Z Fold7, the Z Fold8 feels more intriguing. Its wider and shorter design offers a comfortable user experience without sacrificing screen real estate.
6Conclusion and Evaluation
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 sets a new standard in the foldable phone market. Its lightweight design, expansive screen experience, and practical form factor make it one of the most exciting devices of 2024 for tech enthusiasts.
