This event marks the inaugural collaboration between the festival and the prestigious Golden Horse Awards. The initiative aims to elevate the profile of local actors as they become increasingly vital for structuring complex international film co-productions. ## Selected Rising Stars The featured talents include actresses Bai Xiao-ying, Ho Man-xi, Ma Shih-yuan, and Lin Yi-ting, alongside actors Rosen and Jimmy Liu. Bai and Ho are currently nominated for Best New Performer at the Golden Horse Awards. The other four actors received nominations last year, with Ma Shih-yuan having already secured a win. ## International Production Goals Chang Chen emphasized that fostering cross-border exchanges is essential to prevent misunderstandings during production. By learning about each other's working styles, teams can avoid delays in international projects. Chang, known for his role in Dune, highlighted that adaptability to different production environments is more critical than the project's scale or origin. ## Funding and Visibility Sue Wang, Chair of the Taiwan Creative Content Agency, stated that featuring local actors is a key criterion for accessing specific government funding. Consequently, the agency is prioritizing the visibility of these performers to create more global opportunities. This strategic alignment connects artistic talent directly with the financial mechanisms supporting the industry. ## Diverse Professional Skills The showcase highlighted the actors' multilingual abilities and unique backgrounds. Bai Xiao-ying is fluent in Japanese, while Rosen and Ma Shih-yuan possess English proficiency. Jimmy Liu brings a background in competitive Taekwondo, which helped him secure a role in the Disney+ series American Born Chinese alongside international star Michelle Yeoh. ## Mentorship and Guidance Serving as the Chair of the Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival, Chang Chen offered career advice to the young actors. He suggested reading numerous autobiographies to broaden their emotional understanding of different lives. This practice helps young performers compensate for their limited life experiences by internalizing the thoughts and emotions of others. ## Festival Contextual Timeline The Taiwan Creative Content Fest runs until November 9, focusing on intellectual property and co-production pledges. Meanwhile, the Golden Horse Film Festival continues until November 22, culminating in the awards ceremony. Major films like Sabu’s Arrested Memory and Shu Qi’s Girl are currently leading the nomination lists for this year's prestigious event. ## Industry Impact Outlook This collaboration signals a shift in how Taiwan positions its creative workforce within the global market. By integrating talent showcases with funding incentives, the industry seeks to standardize its role in international cinema. Future success will depend on how effectively these actors leverage their diverse skill sets within global production frameworks. ## Sources covering this story - https://deadline.com/2026/11/chang-chen-golden-horse-awards-taiwan-talent-tccf-1237215415/ — --- _Summary written by Brifing from the original reporting.
