While other leagues' All-Star events are often considered boring or embarrassing, MLB's organization delivers thrilling moments for viewers. ## Jordan Walker's Victory St. Louis Cardinals' star Jordan Walker defeated hometown favorite Kyle Schwarber in the Home Run Derby in Philadelphia, winning a $1 million prize. This victory represents more than Walker's season salary. ## All-Star Events of Other Leagues All-Star events of leagues like the NBA and NHL often fail to satisfy viewers, unlike MLB's. The NBA's Slam Dunk Contest and the NHL's canceled All-Star Game clearly illustrate this. ## NFL's Pro Bowl The NFL's Pro Bowl has been criticized for turning into flag football. This year's event also drew attention for not awarding prize money to skill competition winners. ## MLB's Competitive Structure MLB made some changes in 2017 to increase competitiveness in the All-Star Game. Thanks to these changes, the event feels like a real game, unlike those of other leagues. ## MLB's Dominance The MLB All-Star Game attracts more attention and delivers unforgettable moments for viewers compared to other leagues' events. Jordan Walker's $1 million victory is a testament to this dominance. ## Sources covering this story - https://www.forbes.com/sites/terencemoore/2026/07/15/mlb-all-star-game-has-jordan-walker-and-1-million-reason-it-strikes-out-the-rest/ — --- _Summary written by Brifing from the original reporting.
