# Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8 Makes You Forget the Motorola Razr With its slim design and advanced features, the Galaxy Z Flip 8 outshines its competitors. - **Source:** [Latest from Android Central](https://brifing.si/source/c01c90da-6cf6-4b63-a76b-3d38df0e8324) - **Published:** 2026-08-23 - **Topic:** [Business](https://brifing.si/c/business) - **Original article:** - **On Brifing:** https://brifing.si/s/bbcf674a-94c6-4a2e-9228-ff18dc2f4d73 ## The Slim Design of Galaxy Z Flip 8 The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8 features a thinner and lighter chassis compared to previous models. When compared to the Motorola Razr Ultra 2026, it takes up less space in your pocket and is easier to carry. However, this slimness comes at the cost of battery capacity. The 4,300mAh battery is sufficient for a day's use but may fall short for more extended usage. ## Performance and Hardware The Galaxy Z Flip 8 delivers robust performance with its Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor and 12GB RAM. Even gaming at high settings provides a smooth experience. However, minor issues like the top half of the phone heating up during intensive use can occur, a limitation inherent to foldable phone mechanics. ## AI and User Experience AI features like Galaxy AI and Gemini Intelligence enhance the overall user experience. Functions such as Now Brief and Now Nudge help track daily routines and provide quick access to needed information. However, some users might find these features unnecessary. ## Display and Hinge Mechanism The main display of the Galaxy Z Flip 8 resembles previous models. The absence of Titanium Flex technology makes the crease more noticeable. However, improvements in the hinge mechanism make it easier to flip the phone open and shut with one hand. ## Cover Screen Innovations Samsung has significantly upgraded the cover screen this year. The integration of Now Brief turns it into an information hub. Features like quick settings and an app drawer make the cover screen more functional. Unlike Motorola, Samsung has succeeded in making this screen more practical. ## App Experience Apps can now open in three different aspect ratios: full screen, cropped, and portrait mode. This allows users to interact with apps more comfortably. However, the need to readjust the aspect ratio each time can negatively impact the user experience. ## Price and Competition Priced at $1,200, the Galaxy Z Flip 8 is a premium option. While it outperforms the Motorola Razr Ultra 2026 in some areas, the price hike and limited hardware upgrades may deter potential buyers. Competitors like the Galaxy Z Fold 8 also present strong alternatives. ## Final Verdict The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8 is a significant step forward in the foldable phone market. Its slim design, powerful performance, and advanced cover screen impress users. However, the high price and minor drawbacks prevent it from being the ideal choice for everyone. This phone, which makes you forget the Motorola Razr, promises a bright future for foldable devices. ## Sources covering this story - https://www.androidcentral.com/phones/samsung-galaxy/samsung-galaxy-z-flip-8-review — --- _Summary written by Brifing from the original reporting.
