Waze introduces new customization features and Gemini updates
New tools for personalized navigation and AI-powered features enhance driving experience
1Safer Travel with Motorcycle Mode
Waze now offers a dedicated mode for motorcycle riders. This AI-powered feature considers two-wheeler specific factors like narrow streets and road surfaces when calculating routes. It highlights hazards like potholes and narrow bridges to enhance rider safety. Currently available in 7 countries, the mode will expand to more regions soon.
2Personalized Navigation
The app now suggests routes based on users' past trip preferences. It learns whether you prefer highways or local roads and offers suitable options. This personalization can be completely turned off if desired. Available globally for Android and iOS users.
3Less Chatty Mode
This feature minimizes voice prompts for uninterrupted music or podcast listening. It only provides critical turn and lane change alerts to maintain driving focus. Available on all platforms, it aims to enhance concentration during drives.
4Conversational Map Updates
Using Gemini technology, users can now report road closures or address updates by simply speaking. A phrase like 'The road is closed here' sends information to community editors. Verified updates make navigation more accurate for all users.
5Voice Search for Destinations
Gemini integration enables voice searches like 'Find a coffee shop open now' or 'Show cheapest nearby gas station'. Currently in beta testing, this feature will soon be available to all users, making destination searches more intuitive.
6The Future of Smart Navigation
These updates showcase the future of navigation apps. Through AI and community collaboration, Waze delivers personalized, safe and user-friendly experiences. These advancements represent significant progress in traffic management technology, transforming travel habits worldwide.
