All you need to do is remove the handle to give them a look similar to expensive woven baskets from decor stores. ## Why Transform Baskets? Using woven baskets instead of plastic bins adds warmth and texture to your home while maintaining an elegant appearance. Plus, thrift store baskets are budget-friendly. ## Which Baskets to Choose? Look for tightly woven baskets with sturdy bases. Square or rectangular baskets are more efficient for shelves and drawers. Ensure the handle isn’t structural. ## Cleaning the Baskets If you find a dirty basket without stains, it’s still worth buying. Soak it in hot soapy water, scrub, and let it dry in the sun to extend its lifespan. ## Removing the Handle Use sharp scissors or a box cutter to cut off the handle. Remove vertical reeds with pliers, being careful not to damage the basket’s weave. ## Labeling Method Add decorative labels to your transformed baskets for easy identification. Labels are a simple yet effective way to maintain organization. ## Usage Areas These baskets can be used in kitchen cabinets, bathroom drawers, pantry shelves, or craft rooms. Smaller baskets are perfect for organizing small items. ## Creative Ideas Add lids to baskets to create stackable storage units. You can even turn a large basket into an open cooler for beverages. ## Conclusion Transforming thrift store baskets helps you save money while adding a stylish touch to your home. This simple method solves your storage problems elegantly. ## Sources covering this story - https://inmyownstyle.com/cheap-decorative-storage-baskets.html — --- _Summary written by Brifing from the original reporting.
