Dom Arquitectura's Mediterranean House Design
735 m² private residence project completed in Spain
1Project Overview
Designed by Dom Arquitectura, this 735 m² private residence was completed in Spain in 2025. The project stands out with its south-facing plot location and gently sloping terrain. Led by Pablo Serrano Elorduy, the architectural photography was captured by Pol Viladoms.
2Location and Site Utilization
The house is strategically positioned at the highest point of the plot, leaving ample space in the front for a swimming pool and garden area. This layout ensures privacy while maximizing views. The southern orientation optimizes natural light exposure throughout the day.
3Architectural Team and Collaborators
Blanca Elorduy handled interior design while Javier García-Mussons and Rubén Olmeda Moret contributed to the design team. Construction was managed by Burgos Gasull. The team aimed to create a contemporary interpretation of Mediterranean architecture.
4Material Selection
Natural materials like wood, glass, and stone dominate the structure. This combination adapts to the Mediterranean climate while offering modern aesthetics. Material choices reference regional traditions but are enhanced with contemporary details.
5Interior Design Approach
The interiors designed by Blanca Elorduy prioritize comfort and functionality. Large glass surfaces strengthen indoor-outdoor connections. The continuation of natural materials inside creates a cohesive design language throughout the spaces.
6Sustainable Design Features
The south-facing facade arrangement optimizes passive solar energy use. Natural ventilation systems and local material sourcing reduce the project's ecological footprint. Landscape design incorporates native vegetation appropriate for the region.
7Technical Specifications
The 735 square meter construction showcases high-quality craftsmanship and detailing. Photographic documentation highlights the architectural spatial qualities. The project gained international exposure through platforms like ArchDaily.
8Architectural Significance
This project represents an important example of contemporary Mediterranean architecture. The design successfully merges traditional materials and forms with modern living requirements, bringing fresh perspective to regional architecture. It stands as a notable work in Dom Arquitectura's portfolio.
