RFEF president Rafael Louzán and coach Luis de la Fuente attended the funeral in Navahermosa to support the family. Despite this collective grief, the team must continue its professional duties to maintain focus on the Nations League. ## Nations League Strategic Stakes Spain has already secured qualification for the next phase after achieving a perfect record in their first four matches. However, the upcoming fixtures against the Czech Republic and England are critical for securing the group lead. The team currently holds a three-point advantage over England, following their previous victory at Wembley. ## Returning Players and Absences Coach Luis de la Fuente plans to integrate Pedro Porro and Joan García back into the squad following their recovery from physical issues. Conversely, the team faces significant absences due to injuries, specifically affecting Barcelona players Eric García, Dani Olmo, and Rodrigo. These gaps create new opportunities for emerging talents to join. ## Defensive Lineup Considerations Jacobo Ramón has emerged as a strong candidate for the defense, showing consistent performance that caught the coach's attention. He competes for a spot alongside established figures like Laporte, Cubarsí, and Huijsen. Other potential defensive reinforcements include Jon Martín, Javi Rodríguez, or Le Normand, while Fresneda remains an option for the right flank. ## Midfield Talent and Replacements The absence of key midfielders forces the coaching staff to evaluate new profiles for the engine room. Chema Andrés and Marc Bernal are under consideration due to their impressive growth and positive reports within the RFEF. Pablo Barrios is also a top contender, valued for his versatility as both a pivot and interior. ## Broadening the Midfield Options Beyond the primary candidates, the coaching staff is reviewing several experienced and rising players. Javi Guerra, Luis Milla, and Alberto Moleiro are being assessed alongside established veterans like Fornals and Isco. These players offer diverse tactical profiles, allowing the team to adapt their midfield structure based on the specific demands of upcoming matches. ## Striker Selection and Dynamics The attacking line features a competitive battle for the remaining spots. Roberto Fernández has previously proven his worth, but Samu Aghehowa is now a major candidate after returning to form with two goals in 249 minutes. While Oyarzabal and Ferran remain core members, the coaching staff must decide on the final alternative striker. ## Logistics and Final Outlook The official squad list will be announced this Friday at 11:30 AM, followed by a press conference at the Metropolitano Stadium. This venue change reflects the team's preparation for their upcoming match against England. Fans can follow the updates through the official app to track team progress and match configurations. ## Sources covering this story - https://as.com/futbol/seleccion/una-lista-con-regresos-y-candidatos-jacobo-chema-barrios-samu-f202611-n/ — --- _Summary written by Brifing from the original reporting.
