The Rose Takes Full Control of Their Career Narrative
For the first time in their 10-year journey, the band is writing their story entirely on their own terms.
1The Power of Quiet
The Rose finds pre-show calm for the first time in their decade-long career. While NBA Finals excitement engulfed Madison Square Garden, band members maintained remarkable composure before launching their ROSETOPIA World Tour.
2From Forced Breaks to Chosen Pause
Having previously taken mandatory hiatuses due to pandemic, military enlistment and label disputes, the group is now choosing to step away. Woosung states, 'We now have 100% control of our narrative.'
3Musical Thank You Note
Their April single 'Blue Moon' serves as a thank-you letter for their 10-year journey. The band believes simplicity works best when expressing gratitude.
4Utopia's Church Vibes
June release 'Utopia' blends The Rose's signature anthemic style with 80s synth-pop and choral elements. Woosung describes the track as having 'church vibes.'
5The Long-Awaited ROSE Album
The group finally uses the 'ROSE' album title they've been saving for a decade, maintaining their tradition of four-letter releases that began with Dawn and continued through WRLD.
6Pre-Release Tour Experience
Woosung's vocal nodule treatment delayed the album but created a unique opportunity for fans to hear unreleased material live before official drops during the tour.
7Individual Pursuits
While Hajoon pursues a solo project and Woosung prepares a pop album, bassist Taegyeom focuses on acting and Dojoon plans to travel the world seeking a new home abroad.
8Beyond K-pop Boundaries
Having started in the tightly controlled K-pop system, the band has successfully carved their own path beyond industry restrictions on artists' personal lives.
9The Value of Creative Breathing Space
The Rose's story demonstrates the importance of artists taking control of their careers and the creative value of intentional pauses. The band believes they'll return stronger after their hiatus.
