Le Corbusier-Inspired Pink Villa Nestled in Singapore's Jungle
A luxury living space blending architecture and design harmony.
1Le Corbusier Influence
This pink villa in Singapore's jungle draws inspiration from Le Corbusier's iconic Villa Savoye. Architectural details and open-plan design highlight the harmony between modernism and natural surroundings. The project was realized by London-and-Sydney-based firm Nice Projects.
2Custom-Designed Furniture
The villa features bespoke pieces by contemporary designers like Faye Toogood and Max Lamb, blended with vintage items such as works by Afra and Tobia Scarpa and Isamu Noguchi's lamps. A subdued color palette and natural materials, including wood panels from the Alps and a cork-clad elevator, define the interiors.
3Spaces Merging with Nature
The main living area, with double-glazed walls offering panoramic jungle views, includes a spacious lounge, kitchen, and dining room. Sliding glass doors create seamless indoor-outdoor transitions. The garden and pool area often hosts visits from exotic animals like monkeys.
4Art and Car Collection
The clients' passion for art and classic cars shaped the villa's design. The basement houses a gym, study, and garage doubling as a showroom for their car collection. Artworks by Dawn Ng and Andreas Eriksson adorn the interiors, adding a personal touch to the luxurious space.
5Materials and Details
Travertine floors and Clayworks' clay plaster walls highlight the villa's material choices. The kitchen features a custom concrete countertop and bar stools by Lina Bo Bardi. The bathroom boasts a vanity made of Patagonian stone with garden views, showcasing the blend of luxury and natural elements.
6A Modern Sanctuary
As Nice Projects' largest interior project, this villa offers an intimate atmosphere despite its size, seamlessly integrating with nature. Paying homage to Le Corbusier's modernist legacy, the design combines aesthetics and functionality, redefining luxury living in a jungle setting.
