1Strategic Chennai Infrastructure Expansion

OneQode announced an agreement on October 28, 2026, to secure 14 MW of data center capacity in Siruseri Sipcot, Chennai. This deployment marks the firm's first major AI infrastructure project in India. The facility is designed to support enterprise AI, sovereign AI workloads, and large-scale model training and inference requirements.

2Scaling Potential and Financial Outlook

Beyond the initial 14 MW, OneQode is discussing additional capacity opportunities of up to 114 MW within India. The company estimates that this potential expansion could generate over US$6 billion in total contract value revenue for its GPU-as-a-service platform. These discussions reflect growing demand for high-performance compute infrastructure in the region.

3Geographic and Network Positioning

OneQode views India as a critical strategic location due to its position between EMEA and Asia-Pacific markets. By pairing large-scale compute capacity with its existing low-latency global carrier network, the company aims to serve latency-sensitive inference workloads. The Chennai site will integrate into a network spanning over 30 global data centers.

4Hardware and Software Foundation

The deployment builds upon a May 2026 collaboration with AMD. OneQode plans a phased rollout using AMD Instinct MI355X GPUs and the Helios rack-scale solution. The infrastructure will operate on the open AMD ROCm software stack, consistent with OneQode's status as an AMD Instinct Cloud Provider designated in August 2026.

5AdaniConneX Partnership Dynamics

AdaniConneX, a joint venture between Adani Enterprises and EdgeConneX, provides the physical infrastructure for this project. The Chennai campus, opened in November 2022, offers 17 MW of initial IT load with scalability to 33 MW. The site is notable for being Tamil Nadu’s first pre-certified IGBC Platinum Rated data center facility.

6Broader Asia-Pacific Growth Strategy

This Chennai project is part of a wider Asia-Pacific expansion, which includes concurrent deployments in Thailand. CEO Matthew Shearing emphasized that India and Thailand represent the initial phase of a regional strategy. The company intends to move quickly to establish large AI clusters for governments, financial services, and research institutions.

7European Market Parallel Developments

OneQode is simultaneously executing its global strategy in Europe through a 15-year lease agreement signed in May 2026. The company secured 110 MW of capacity at a Bitzero site in Norway, powered by hydroelectric energy. This flagship European project targets initial commissioning in the first half of 2027 to ensure sustainable operations.

8Market Context and Competitive Landscape

The infrastructure sector in India is seeing rapid activity, with AdaniConneX also partnering with CoreWeave for a 240 MW project in Navi Mumbai. OneQode differentiates its model by acting as a global operator that owns and designs its compute and network infrastructure, supporting sovereign AI deployments through its own licensed carrier operations.
