The company curates a mix of proprietary products and items from other small businesses, avoiding reliance on large mainstream brands. This boutique approach appeals to consumers seeking aesthetic, functional tools for maintaining greenery in residential indoor spaces. ## Smart Landscape Growframe Specs The Smart Landscape Growframe is a significant piece of hardware measuring 32.1 inches long and 11.5 inches tall. Constructed from durable powder-coated steel, the unit weighs 8 pounds, requiring secure wall mounting into studs. It features a 9-foot power cord and a full-spectrum LED system capable of reaching 1,480 lumens. ## Installation and Mounting Challenges Mounting the heavy steel frame requires precision, as the unit does not include drywall anchors. Users must utilize a stud finder, level, and power drill to ensure stability. Because the frame is wide and heavy, a second person is recommended for installation to prevent alignment errors during the screw-driving process. ## App Functionality and Scheduling The companion app provides simple, intuitive controls for lighting schedules, including presets for shade, partial sun, and full sun. While the interface is user-friendly, it lacks advanced smart home integrations like Home Assistant. A minor visual bug exists in the toggle menu, though it does not impact the actual lighting performance. ## Planting Capacity and Maintenance The Growframe accommodates up to seven small pots, though it comfortably fits five 4-inch herb pots. Users must monitor pot height to prevent water overflow, as the basin design can be sensitive to rim placement. Adding small notches to pots can help facilitate proper drainage into the unit's internal basin. ## Pruning Shears Performance Review The $20 metal pruning shears stand out as the highest value item in the collection. Featuring a comfortable design and a reliable locking latch, the needle-nose blades allow for precise trimming in tight spaces. They represent a significant quality upgrade over standard $10 gardening scissors, making them ideal for dense herbs. ## Glass Watering Can Limitations The $48 glass watering can is aesthetically pleasing but presents practical challenges for daily use. Its 1-quart capacity is insufficient for larger plant collections, and the flared rim complicates pouring into tight spaces. Being made of borosilicate glass, it remains fragile and less durable than standard plastic alternatives for clumsy users. ## Dissolving Plant Food Sheets These seaweed-based fertilizer sheets offer a convenient, mess-free alternative to liquid fertilizers. Each sheet is perforated for easy portioning, though they require manual stirring to dissolve completely in water. While they are more expensive per feeding than traditional liquid options, their portability and ease of storage make them excellent gift items. ## Value and Design Assessment Modern Sprout products prioritize premium aesthetics and build quality, justifying higher price points for design-conscious consumers. While the Growframe is expensive at $229, its heavy-duty construction and integrated smart lighting offer a cohesive solution. The brand is best suited for those who value form as much as plant health functionality. ## Final Verdict for Consumers Modern Sprout serves as an excellent resource for gift-giving or upgrading home decor with functional greenery. While enthusiasts with massive collections might prefer cheaper, high-volume tools, the brand delivers a polished experience. The combination of smart lighting and durable accessories makes it a strong contender for modern, space-constrained indoor gardeners. ## Sources covering this story - https://www.cnet.com/tech/modern-sprout-wall-mounted-garden-frame/ — --- _Summary written by Brifing from the original reporting.
