Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) has been added to the A-series for the first time, while battery life has been improved. The 11mm drivers deliver balanced sound for podcasts and pop music. The in-ear design sits deeper for better sound isolation. ## Price and Discount Details Pixel Buds 2a is currently available on Amazon for $99, discounted from its regular price of $129. This marks the lowest price ever recorded for the product. The discount presents an attractive opportunity for those seeking professional-level features at a more affordable price. The absence of a charging cable in the box and lack of wireless charging might be disadvantages for some users. ## Technical Specifications Pixel Buds 2a uses the same Tensor A1 chip found in the more expensive Pixel Buds Pro 2. This enables features like Gemini voice access, adaptive audio processing, and customizable 5-band equalizer. The earbuds significantly improve noise cancellation performance with proper seal. Four different silicone tip options make it easier for users to find the perfect fit. ## Sound and Noise Cancellation Performance The active noise cancellation system of Pixel Buds 2a effectively blocks low-frequency noises like airplane engines and subway rumble. However, it's less effective at blocking human voices compared to premium models from Sony or Bose. Sound quality is optimized particularly for podcast listening and casual music streaming. While not ideal for audiophiles, it delivers satisfactory performance for general users. ## Battery Life and Charging Pixel Buds 2a offers up to 7 hours of use on a single charge with ANC enabled, extending to 20 hours total with the charging case. However, the lack of wireless charging support and absence of a charging cable in the box might disappoint some users. Compared to the Pro model, it has fewer microphones and sensors, resulting in slightly inferior call quality and fitness tracking features. ## Comparison with Competing Products PCMag named Pixel Buds 2a as the best earbuds for Android users. At $99, it presents a more affordable alternative to premium models like AirPods Pro or Sony WH-1000XM5. However, missing features like wireless charging and included charging cable might lead some users to prefer other brands. It's particularly suitable for those seeking basic daily-use functionality. ## User Experience The design of Pixel Buds 2a allows for deeper insertion into the ear canal with a slight twist, ensuring both comfort and better sound isolation. Four different silicone tip options accommodate various ear shapes. Comfort stands out especially during extended use. The ANC performance is adequate for listening to music or podcasts in noisy environments. ## Final Verdict Google Pixel Buds 2a offers a feature-rich yet affordable wireless earbud option for Android users. The $30 discount bringing the price down to $99 makes it even more attractive. With features like active noise cancellation, long battery life, and comfortable fit, it's ideal for daily use. Despite some shortcomings, it stands out as one of the best options in its price range. ## Sources covering this story - https://lifehacker.com/tech/pixel-buds-2a-sale-august-2026?utm_medium=RSS — --- _Summary written by Brifing from the original reporting.
