JetBrains Context: Repository Intelligence for Coding Agents
New solution enables AI coding assistants to work smarter on complex codebases.
1Next-Gen Coding Support
JetBrains Context introduces a repository intelligence layer that helps AI coding assistants work more effectively on complex codebases. Integrated with Claude Code, Codex CLI and Junie CLI, the system aims to boost developer productivity. It delivers impactful results even on small-scale projects.
2Understanding Institutional Knowledge
For large codebases, agents' access to unwritten institutional knowledge becomes critical. JetBrains Context structures this information through semantic indexing, helping agents comprehend APIs, dependencies and engineering conventions. This reduces unnecessary code exploration and revision cycles.
3Multi-Repo Search Capability
One standout feature allows agents to search across an organization's entire codebase, not just the current repository. This makes it easy to locate reusable code in remote projects. The capability significantly simplifies API validation and change impact analysis.
4Performance Improvements
Tests on 205 open-source SWE-bench tasks showed JetBrains Context reduced agent turns by up to 68%. Latency improved by 59% and execution costs decreased by 48%. The solution delivers substantial time and cost savings for large codebases.
5Easy Integration Process
Users can access early features at no additional cost with JetBrains AI subscription. After simple CLI installation and authentication, integration begins with the jbcontext setup-agent command in the project folder. Source code isn't stored on JetBrains servers, prioritizing security.
6Revolutionizing Code Quality
JetBrains Context sets a new standard for AI-assisted coding processes. Smart repository access improves architectural conformity and reduces unnecessary workload. It stands out as a solution that delivers tangible productivity gains developers expect from AI.
