Lomadas House: Harmony of Architecture and Landscape in Argentina
Grizzo Studio's concrete house design with lagoon views.
1Project Location and Features
Lomadas House is built on a double plot along the lagoon shoreline in Pilar, Argentina. The 460-square-meter project consists of a concrete structure resting on two mounds of native vegetation. The architecture was designed to harmonize with its natural surroundings.
2Design Philosophy
Grizzo Studio aimed for complete integration between architecture and landscape in this project. The folded concrete bar serves both as a structural element and an aesthetic statement. Exposed concrete surfaces emphasize the modern and minimalist character of the design.
3Spatial Organization
The structure is positioned to maximize lagoon views. Large glass surfaces create visual continuity between interior and exterior spaces. Living areas are arranged to take full advantage of natural light throughout the day.
4Material Selection
The project primarily uses concrete and glass. The raw texture of concrete strengthens the dialogue with the natural environment. Preservation of native vegetation demonstrates a sustainable approach to construction.
5Environmental Integration
Architects placed the structure on two natural mounds to minimize site intervention. This approach allows the building to cling to the topography while providing uninterrupted lagoon views. The organic relationship with the landscape stands out as the project's most remarkable feature.
6Architectural Significance
Lomadas House demonstrates how modern architecture can coexist harmoniously with natural surroundings. Grizzo Studio's design inspires contemporary residential architecture through material simplicity and spatial fluidity. Completed in 2023, the project has made waves in architectural circles.
