Achime Bagel: A Minimalist Neighborhood Bakery in Seoul
JOJOWORKSHOP's design translates the daily fresh bagel experience into architecture.
1Project Philosophy
Achime Bagel is a neighborhood bakery located in Munjeong-dong, Seoul. JOJOWORKSHOP began this project with the idea of creating a small space that could gently accompany the start of each day. The 46 m² minimalist space integrates the process of preparing and selling fresh bagels with architecture. The interior design was conceived to reflect the bakery's emphasis on daily freshness.
2Functional Layout
The bakery combines production and sales areas in the same space. JOJOWORKSHOP aimed to translate this simple and diligent approach into the interior. The counter displaying fresh products during the day occupies the center of the space. The design was planned to ensure efficient workflow for staff while offering customers an intimate experience.
3Material Choices
Natural materials like wood and glass stand out in the project. Photographs by Donggyu Kim showcase the impressive use of materials in the space. Despite the limited 46 square meter area, material selections create an airy and inviting atmosphere. Minimalist details support the warm and friendly character of the space.
