1Strategic Platform Expansion

Kia is broadening its Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV) lineup with the introduction of the PV7, a larger sibling to the successful PV5. Revealed at the IAA Transportation event in Hanover, this model targets both commercial logistics and passenger transport. It builds on the momentum of the PV5, which captured 37% of Europe's electric C-segment van market.

2Dimensions and Platform Design

The PV7 utilizes the E-GMP.S platform, featuring a significantly stretched body measuring 5,350 mm in length. Its 3,500 mm wheelbase surpasses the Volkswagen ID. Buzz Long-Wheelbase model, providing substantial interior volume. This design allows for a versatile mobile workspace concept, incorporating a layered dashboard and center console to maximize overall cabin utility for users.

3Battery and Charging Performance

Equipped with nickel-cobalt-manganese battery packs of 71.5 kWh or 96.2 kWh, the PV7 achieves over 460 km of range in the Long Range Cargo configuration. Its 800V architecture enables rapid charging from 10% to 80% in approximately 25 minutes using 350 kW DC fast chargers, featuring dual charging ports for enhanced operational flexibility.

4Cargo and Payload Capabilities

Designed for logistics, the Cargo variant offers up to 8 cubic meters of space in the High Roof configuration. It supports a maximum payload of 1,200 kg and accommodates three Euro pallets. A heavy-duty mode adjusts vehicle response to varying loads, ensuring stability and control for professional fleet operators during daily transport tasks.

5Passenger Seating Configurations

The Passenger model accommodates up to nine people globally, with an 11-seat version planned for the Korean market. It features Long-Rail Easy Remove Seats, allowing for highly flexible interior layouts. Families and shuttle operators can choose between various seating rows, including a fourth-row option, to optimize space based on specific passenger or cargo requirements.

6Advanced Infotainment Integration

Both versions feature the Pleos Connect infotainment system, running on Android Automotive OS with 12.9-inch and 14.6-inch displays. The system integrates Gleo AI, an artificial intelligence companion that manages navigation and vehicle functions. This smartphone-like interface allows for customizable screens, providing a modern digital experience for both commercial drivers and private vehicle owners.

7Powertrain and V2L Utility

The PV7 launches with a front-wheel drive powertrain delivering 268 horsepower and 309 lb-ft of torque, with all-wheel drive options planned for the future. It includes vehicle-to-load (V2L) capabilities, allowing the van to function as a mobile power source for external tools, camping equipment, or other electronic devices during work or leisure activities.

8Market Launch and Outlook

Sales for the PV7 are scheduled to begin in Korea and Europe during the second half of 2027. While pricing remains unannounced, it follows the PV5’s competitive entry-level strategy. Kia plans to introduce 23 different variants over the coming years, aiming to dominate the electric van segment through modularity and specialized vehicle conversions.
